Meet with Yourself
In your current job do you have weekly or monthly meetings? In those meetings do you sit down with everyone and review how things have been going and that you are accomplishing goals and intentions? Just like you might have these meeting with others, you should have weekly meetings with yourself. During this time you can review goals intentions and help you to stay on course for achieving your goals.
This is a great habit to start if you are not already doing this!
Why
Just like checking in with your or others you need to feel supported and like you are getting your needs met and supported. All too often we set these intentions and never go back to them to see how we are doing. By having weekly check-ins with yourself you are able to stay on top of things if you need to correct and change directions.
What to ask
- how are projects going
- are you staying on task
- what do you need to do today to keep moving the needle forward
- What have I loved the past week
- what do I not want to do again
- what am I wasting time on
- how do I feel
Schedule the meeting
I had a student tell me this was such a great idea and how she could see the value in having a weekly meeting with herself, and when I would check back in with her about them, she kept having excuses of why they never occurred. I want you to pull out your calendar right now! Yes right now! Look at a day of the week that you can consistently have a meeting with yourself and put it on today, and put it on repeat! Now honor that time! Do not schedule clients or other things during that time thinking you will make it up later- you won’t. Honor your time to honor your business.
Once you have this meeting with yourself scheduled in your calendar in the note section of the calendar put the above questions so you don;t waste your time and you have an agenda for the meeting.
