Check in without losing your vision. Sounds so easy and like you can do this while you brush your teeth. Good, I want it to feel easy and not overwhelming since checking in with yourself should happen often when you have big goals. All too often I hear students get bogged down with guilt, fear or even feel like we are flooded with tasks as we are beginning this process of starting a practice. In this post, I want to help you not to get buried by yourself and those negative voices of the mind and not lose that vision
First I want each of us to check yourself before you wreck yourself- just had to say that! Now we all that that song stuck in our heads for the rest of Monday. Do a quick pause and look around at how far you have come. You have consciously made the choice to have a big dream and you are taking steps towards making it a reality! Don’t get hung up on all the details that you cause yourself to give in to all those negative voices.

Focus on the next step
- I am sure you have heard of my talk about a brain dump before, and if you have not, listen up! Grab a sheet of paper and write out EVERY and I do mean everything that is on your mind about this one particular topic. After you have given it one good dump I want you to go back and try to expand on each thing you wrote out a bit more. For example, if I said post more on social media for my initial brain dump the second time I might write – post 3 times a week on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.
-
Plan it out
- Now that you have your more detailed braindump I want you to pull out your calendar and plan out when these things can happen. If I am going to post more on social media, in my calender I will set reminders and times of when this needs to happen so I stick to the promise I made myself and to help those negative voices in my mind that say,” I will never get all this done!”, just go away!
-
Walk your talk
- Ok- you made a promise to yourself to achieve this goal and I want you to honor that promises because you are worth it! And I want you to walk towards this goal daily. Even if that step towards your goal is a small half a millimeter of a step it is still in the right direction and honoring your heart. How do you keep moving forward each day? You set that intention and you need to set a trigger that reminds yourself of doing just that! For me, it is my beloved post-a-notes. Every morning after I do my Driven Goals (Here is a link to your FREE Driven Goal Planner) I write out my steps for the day and they get stuck to my computer every day!
As the end of the year continues to come closer and closer we need to begin to check in with ourselves and see where we are in our journey, in our process of achieving our dreams. -Love y’all,
