Many people grill and fry a lot of food and drink many alcoholic beverages right before they go into the football game. Then while sitting at the football game they may eat even more like pretzels and nachos and pizzas and hot dogs and drink more alcohol. It’s very easy to really overdo it at sporting events. I am all for making practical decisions about what you eat. No need to make any drastic changes that might take away from the fun! So, how can we make more conscious choices?
Practical Food Choices to Make While Tailgating or During a Football Game:
- When eating a hamburger, choose either cheese OR mayonnaise. While the is nothing wrong with cheese or mayonnaise, sometimes if we put them both together that can be a little too much!
- When eating a hot dog, choose chili OR cheese, or switch it up and eat a hot dog with mustard and relish.
- When eating nachos, reduce the amount of cheese you use and add more picante de guiro or salsa!
We only get one body and we want to treat it well and take care of it. Even when we are going to watch football or going tailgating we still want to make sure to find some great balance and make conscious choices.
Have a fabulous weekend and make good decisions!
