Summer Charcuterie Board
It’s summertime and too hot to cook or turn on the oven here in Austin, Texas. One of my favorite things to do for dinner when it’s hot and no one is feeling like cooking, is to put together a charcuterie board! This allows everyone to put together their favorite flavors, have a variety of options, and the best part…not cooking!
As a dietitian in Austin Texas, having an easy diner to put together for a family that is balanced is always one of my top goals. In this blog I hope to show you how to build a dinner-worthy charcuterie board with ideas for what to put on a cheese and charcuterie board and some of my favorite choices to add to this board.
This month I put together some amazing goat cheese from the Mozzarella Cheese Company.
You can technically make a charcuterie board any way you want- there really is no wrong way to put it together.
- Goat cheese
- 1 cucumber
- 1 bell pepper
- 1/2 c olives
- 1/2 baby pickles
- 2 types of crackers
- 2 oz salami
- 2 oz almonds
- 2 oz pistachios
- 1 red pear
- 1/2 c dried apricots
How to Your Summer Charcuterie Board
- Cut up the fruit and veggies
- Arrange everything on a big cutting board
- Dig in!
I know that your summer charcuterie board is filled with tasty components for my dinner-worthy alternative! From– meat, cheese, crackers/bread, vegetables, fruit, dips/tapenades/spreads, and all the extras it will be a crowd-pleaser for sure! What are your favorite things to include on a charcuterie board – let me know and I’ll add them to the list!
