Just because you’ve left for college doesn’t mean you have to succumb to ramen noodle dinners. Not every meal needs to be a masterpiece, but with some simple ingredients and a little creativity, you can turn your dorm room into a kitchen.

  • Ziplock baggies

  • Knife and cutting board
  • Can opener
  • Mug

Lunch Ideas:

  • Turkey sandwich with cheese, lettuce, and tomato
  • Low sodium canned soup with crackers
  • Crackers, cheese, salami, fruit
  • Yogurt, fruit, nuts
  • Microwave Mac and cheese

Dinner Ideas:

  • Microwave rice w/ canned beans
    • Add cheese, lettuce, and prepared pico di gallo as a topping
  • Kashi or Amys frozen meal and  low sodium canned veggies
  • Homemade tuna, chicken, or pasta salad
  • Microwave baked potato
  • Frozen spring rolls

Snack Ideas:

  • Fruit
  • Cheese sticks
  • Nuts
  • Graham crackers & almond butter
  • Popcorn
  • Pita bread or vegetables and hummus
  • Dried fruit
  • 1/2 sandwich
