The spotlight is on Bridget Levien this week!
Bridget is one of our newest members at ILiveWell Nutrition. After being introduced through an Austin’s Registered Dietitian’s Alliance (ARDA) meeting, Adrien knew she would be a perfect fit to the team.
Q: What brought you into nutrition?
Bridget: Well I was a CPA doing taxes before I became interested in nutrition and health. I just kept hearing about general health getting worse with diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, etc. and I wanted to help people. So I went back to school. Rather than just becoming a wellness coach or nutritionist, I chose to go the registered dietitian route because I really wanted to understand the science and facts behind nutrition so I could help people as best as I can.
Q: What is your favorite part about the day as a dietitian?
Bridget: Anytime when a client has that “Aha!” moment and I can tell that things are starting to click. That’s when I really feel like I’ve made a difference. Oh, and snack time. I love snack time.
Q: What is your go-to snack on a busy day?
Bridget: Triscuits. Triscuits and hummus, triscuits and cheese, or just plain triscuits.
Q: What is your favorite dinner to cook at home?
Bridget: My favorite meal to cook is spaghetti with sautéed squash, zucchini, and onion. It’s so yummy and so easy to make!
Q: What is a fun fact that people might not know about you?
Bridget: Hm, that I took a flying trapeze training course one time. I was so sore afterwards. It is the best workout for abs, and everything really. Oh and also I used to own a cow.
